Troubleshooting Domains

When you sell domains, issues with domain availability checks, registration, or renewals can cause serious problems.

Domain Registrars

Domain registrar modules automate the process of registering and managing domains with supported registrars. WHMCS supports many popular registrars by default.

Lookup Providers

To allow your customers to search for domains, you must configure a lookup provider. Some lookup providers support namespinning.

Domain Statuses

Domain statuses indicate the domain's current state in the domain registration process. WHMCS's automation uses the domain status to determine when to generate invoices and perform other tasks.

The Domains tab in the Client Profile contains details and management options for all of a client's domains.

The CentralNic Reseller module allows you to register and manage domains with RRP Proxy.

Configure a Domain Extension

Update your Domain Pricing configuration to add more domain extensions (TLDs) to sell. Your registrar module must support them.

Configure a Lookup Provider

Configure a lookup provider for domain availability searches. This example changes the lookup provider from the default to Enom.

Customize the domain options that display during the ordering process: domain registration, domain transfers, or using an existing domain.

Domains

The Domains tab in General Settings allows you to configure how WHMCS manages domain registrations. You can choose how WHMCS handles renewals and transfers, configure grace and redemption fees, enable IDN domains, set your default nameservers, and more.
