Troubleshooting the Client Area

Issues in the Client Area or your online store can hurt customers' ability to purchase your products or access their purchased services.

Users and Client Accounts

The user management system can grant access for a single client's services, billing, and support to multiple users with separate logins.

Managing Users

Users can access and manage one or more client accounts. Their contact details and other information are separate from their clients'.

Order Form Templates

Order form templates set the look and feel of the shopping cart. WHMCS includes default order form templates or you can create your own.

Security Questions

Security questions add an extra level of security for users. During password resets, the system uses them to verify the user's identity.

Cross-selling Recommendations

Cross-selling allows you to display product recommendations to customers based on their existing services and the contents of their cart.

Knowledgebase

WHMCS includes all of the tools you need to create a custom knowledgebase for your company. Customers can view this in the Client Area.

Announcements

Announcements appear on the Client Area Homepage under Recent News and in an XML RSS feed. You can also save announcements as drafts.

Banned IP Addresses

WHMCS automatically bans IP addresses after three failed login attempts, or you can permanently ban them manually.

Captcha Protection

Captchas help you prevent bots from placing orders, creating accounts, or logging in to your Client Area. WHMCS includes several captcha types, including a default verification code captcha and options with enhanced protection from Google® reCAPTCHA and hCaptcha.



Custom Fields

Custom fields collect additional information from or about your clients. You can set them as admin-only or make them visible to clients.

Enable Client Area Renewals

Enable or disable client domain renewal orders. If you disable this, clients can only renew domains by paying the renewal invoice.


Linking to WHMCS

Create login or product links for the Client Area, shortcuts to ticket submission forms, and other links to bring visitors to your site.

Maintenance Mode

Maintenance Mode prevents customers from accessing your store or Client Area. Use it during site maintenance or WHMCS reconfiguration.

Network Issues

Network Issues display in the Client Area to notify customers about service-affecting issues like server outages, updates, and maintenance.

On-Demand Renewals

On-demand renewals allow clients to renew services early, before the system generates the next invoice, directly in the Client Area.

Sessions

File sessions and database sessions can help you preserve data across subsequent page loads within your custom web applications.
