Translation Editor

The Translation Editor addon module allows WHMCS Cloud users to override translated text in the WHMCS localization system. This allows admins to further customize their customers’ experience in the WHMCS Client Area. The Translation Editor can override text in any of WHMCS’s supported Client Area languages.

For more information about localization in WHMCS, see Localization.

Activation

The Translation Editor addon module is an exclusive addon module for WHMCS Cloud. To localize text on a self-hosted WHMCS installation, see Customize Text.

Because WHMCS Cloud includes this addon module by default, you only need to activate it through the Admin Area.

To do this:

  1. Go to Configuration () > System Settings > Addon Modules.
  2. Click Activate for Translation Editor.
  3. Click Configure.
  4. Configure the number of strings of translated text to display per page.
  5. Select the admin role groups that will have access to this addon module.
  6. Click Save Changes.

Using this Addon

You can access the Translation Editor addon module by going to Addons > Translation Editor.

Create an Override

To customize a translation, create an override for that text:

  1. For Language (locale), choose a language or locale.
  2. Optionally, search or filter for the desired text strings:
    • Use Category to narrow results by section.
    • Use Search to enter search terms for specific text.
    • Use Filter to filter text by strings that have or do not have existing overrides.
  3. Click in the Custom (Override) Value column for the text string that you want to customize.
  4. Enter the text that you want to replace the default string with.
  5. Click the checkmark icon to save the override.

Restore Default Text

To restore text to the default value, click RESTORE DEFAULT in the Actions column for that text string.
