Troubleshooting System Email

Problems with your system email can prevent you from sending email to clients or connecting to your mail provider.

Mail Providers

You can choose from several supported mail providers for your WHMCS installation, including Google™, Mailgun, Microsoft®, PHP Mail, SendGrid, SMTP, or SparkPost.

Customize Email Templates

You can customize any of the emails that your WHMCS installation sends to your customers. WHMCS sends email whenever specific actions occur, and each action has an associated email template that you can customize from within the Admin Area.

Disable Outgoing Mail

You can disable all outgoing mail from your WHMCS installation. This allows you to test customizations, verify system changes, or perform other routine tests without sending email to customers.

Get Copies of System Emails

You can easily configure WHMCS to send you a BCC copy of all of the email your WHMCS installation sends to clients.

Localize Email Templates

You can customize email templates for multiple locales, to ensure that your clients receive emails in their preferred language.

Set a Global Email Signature

You can set the email signature that WHMCS adds to all outgoing email templates. This signature will automatically appear at the end of every email message that the system sends to your customers using an email template.

Use Google for System Mail

You can configure Google as your mail provider using SMTP. This requires creating an app in the Google Cloud console and configuring SMTP as your mail provider.

Use Microsoft for System Mail

You can configure Microsoft® as your mail provider using Microsoft Entra® ID (formerly Azure Active Directory). To do this, you will also need to create an app in the Microsoft Entra console.

Use SMTP for System Mail

You can configure SMTP as your mail provider. Make sure to choose the mail provider that offers the best service and security features for you.
