Problem #

When you attempt to add a download at Support > Downloads, the system displays the following error and prevents the upload:

This filename is not allowed.

This occurs even if the file appears valid.

Cause #

This error occurs when you have not included the file extension in your list of allowed file types. The system checks this list before permitting uploads.

Solution #

To resolve this error:

1. Identify the file extension of the item you want to upload.
2. Go to System Settings () > General Settings > Support.
3. Add the file extension to Allowed File Attachment Types.
   Separate multiple file types with a comma.
4. Save your changes and try again.
