Problem #

You see the following error when you attempt to delete a theme using the Theme Editor addon module:

You cannot delete the active system theme.

Cause #

This error occurs when you attempt to delete the theme that is the currently-selected System Theme value in the General tab at Configuration () > System Settings > General Settings.

Solution #

To resolve this issue:

1. Go to Configuration () > System Settings > General Settings and select the General tab.
2. Select a different theme for System Theme.
3. Click Save Changes.
4. Go to Addons > Theme Editor.
5. Select the theme that you want to delete for Theme Management.
6. Click DELETE THEME.
