Gateway Module Activation Errors

Problem

You see the following error in the Module Log at Configuration () > System Logs:

Failed to initialise payment gateway module: Gateway Module 'module_name' Not Activated

Cause

This error indicates that the payment gateway is successfully sending payment notifications to the module’s callback listener file, but you have not activated the payment gateway module at Configuration () > System Settings > Payment Gateways.

If you are transitioning from the deprecated PayPal Basic or PayPal Checkout modules to the PayPal Payments, do not deactivate the old modules. They must remain active. For more information, see Automated Transition from Deprecated PayPal Modules.

Solution

To process payments using the payment gateway module, activate and configure it.

If you do not want to process payments using the payment gateway module, contact the payment gateway’s Technical Support team and request help to disable payment notifications, webhooks, or API commands for your WHMCS installation.
