Invalid VAT Number Errors

Problem

While collecting Value-Added Tax (VAT) for the United Kingdom, you see the following error:

The supplied VAT number is not valid

Cause

The VAT number is not a valid UK VAT number or you selected Deny All for UK VAT Validation Mode at Configuration () > System Settings > Tax Configuration.

Solution

Manually validate the UK VAT number and check your tax configuration at Configuration () > System Settings > Tax Configuration.
