E-Invoicing Client Data Errors

Problem

You experience one of the following issues with a client’s data in the E-Invoicing addon module:

  • An info icon (ⓘ) appears next to the client’s name in the Client Management section at Addons > E-Invoicing with one of the following tooltips:

Client data is missing for e-invoicing.

The system failed to export the contact to the e-invoicing service.

  • The system does not export the client’s invoices, and the Activity Log includes the following entry:

You have not enabled e-invoicing for the client.

Cause

This error occurs for one of the following reasons:

  • Client data is missing — One or more required e-invoicing values in the client’s profile are empty or invalid.
  • The system failed to export the contact — The client data appeared complete in WHMCS, but the e-invoicing service rejected the contact.
  • E-invoicing not enabled — You have not turned on the Enable E-Invoicing option for the client.

Solution

To resolve this error, identify the issue and follow the appropriate steps:

Client data is missing or the contact export failed

To resolve this error:

  1. Go to the client’s profile at Clients > View/Search Clients.
  2. Confirm that you completed the Name, Country, Currency, and Tax ID information. The Tax ID must be 5 to 20 characters and contain only letters, digits, spaces, and the ., /, and - characters.
  3. Correct any missing or invalid information and save the profile.
  4. Go to the Invoice Management section at Addons > E-Invoicing and click Retry on the affected invoice. This re-attempts the contact synchronization.

If the export failed because the e-invoicing service rejected a specific value, review the Activity Log at Configuration () > System Logs. The log names the value and the reason.

E-invoicing is not enabled for the client

To resolve this error:

  1. Go to the client’s profile at Clients > View/Search Clients.
  2. In the Profile tab, scroll to the E-Invoicing Information section.
  3. Check Enable E-Invoicing.
  4. Click Save Changes.
Enabling E-Invoicing for a client does not export past invoices. The system only exports invoices that you create or publish after you enable the option.

If a warning continues after you correct the client data and retry, contact WHMCS Technical Support.
