E-Invoicing License Errors

Problem

In the E-Invoicing addon module settings, the license status shows one of the following:

License validation failed.
Your license is suspended.
Validating license...

When the license is invalid or suspended, invoice export and status updates fail.

Cause

This issue usually occurs for one of the following reasons:

  • License validation failed — The License ID or License Key does not match the credentials for this WHMCS installation. This often happens when you transfer a license or reissue the license key, but continue to use the old credentials.
  • Your license is suspended — WebPros suspended the E-Invoicing subscription for this license, typically because of a billing issue or a lapsed subscription.
  • Validating license… that never resolves — The WHMCS server cannot reach the e-invoicing service because of a firewall, DNS, or blocked outbound connection, or the e-invoicing service is temporarily unavailable.

Solution

To resolve this issue, identify the status and perform the appropriate steps:

License validation failed

To resolve this issue:

  1. Log in to WHMCS.com and go to Services > My Products & Services.
  2. Open your E-Invoicing license and click the Manage tab. This displays your License ID and License Key.
  3. Go to Configuration () > System Settings > Addon Modules and open the E-Invoicing settings.
  4. Update the credentials. To avoid typos, copy and paste them rather than retyping.
  5. Click Save Changes to start a fresh license validation.
Reissuing the license key on WHMCS.com invalidates the previous key immediately. After you reissue it, enter the new License Key in the E-Invoicing settings, or the addon module stops authenticating.

Your license is suspended

To resolve this issue:

  1. Check your subscription status on WHMCS.com.
  2. If the subscription has lapsed, renew it.
  3. After the subscription is active again, reload the Addon Modules interface and open the E-Invoicing settings. The license status updates automatically.
You cannot reissue the license key while the license is suspended.

Validating license

To resolve this issue:

  1. Wait a few minutes, then reload the Addon Modules interface and open the E-Invoicing settings. The license check runs automatically.
  2. If the status does not resolve, confirm that your server can make outbound HTTPS connections on port 443 to the e-invoicing service.

If the license status remains incorrect after you complete these steps, contact WHMCS Technical Support.
