Bad User name or Password Errors

Problem

You see the following error while using Enom for domain registrations or SSL certificate sales:

Bad User name or Password

Cause

The credentials in your Enom configuration are incorrect.

Solution

To resolve the issue, go to the location of your Enom configuration and ensure that your entered credentials are correct:

  • For Enom domain registration, go to Configuration () > System Settings > Domain Registrars and click Configure for Enom.
  • For Enom SSL certificate sales, go to Configuration () > System Settings > Products/Services, edit the product, and choose the Module Settings tab.
If you enabled Test Mode for Enom SSL, make certain that you have successfully registered your credentials on the test server. For more information, see Enom SSL.

Your Enom password must also meet Enom’s password requirements:

  • Contain between 14–20 characters.
  • Not contain spaces.
  • Only contain letters, numbers, and the following special characters: * @ - _ . /
  • Contain at least one lowercase letter.
  • Contain at least one uppercase letter.
  • Contain at least one number.
  • Contain at least one of the following special characters: * @ - _ . /
