BitPay Token Migration Alerts

Problem

WHMCS shows an Action Required alert on the BitPay module’s settings at Configuration () > System Settings > Payment Gateways.

Cause

This alert indicates that your stored POS Token value is shorter than 30 characters, which identifies it as a legacy token from an earlier BitPay integration. Current POS tokens are longer, and the module can’t use a legacy token to process payments.

Solution

To resolve this alert, generate a new POS token and update your BitPay gateway configuration:

  1. Log in to BitPay.
  2. Go to Payment Tools > API Tokens.
  3. Create a new API token and uncheck Require Authentication.
  4. Copy the generated POS token.
  5. Go to Configuration () > System Settings > Payment Gateways.
  6. Find the BitPay module.
  7. Paste the token into POS Token.
  8. Click Save Changes.
