BitPay Token Migration Alerts

Problem

WHMCS shows an Action Required alert on the BitPay module’s settings at Configuration () > System Settings > Payment Gateways. A BitPay Action Required banner also appears at the top of every Admin Area page.

If you dismiss this banner but do not update your BitPay settings, the banner will reappear every seven days.

Cause

This alert indicates that your stored POS Token value is shorter than the minimum length, which identifies it as a legacy token from an earlier BitPay integration. The module cannot use a legacy token to process payments.

Solution

To resolve this alert, generate a new POS token and update your BitPay gateway configuration:

  1. Log in to BitPay.
  2. Go to Payment Tools > API Tokens.
  3. Create a new API token and uncheck Require Authentication.
  4. Copy the generated POS token.
  5. Go to Configuration () > System Settings > Payment Gateways.
  6. Find the BitPay module.
  7. Paste the token into POS Token.
  8. Click Save Changes.

The alert and the banner disappear the next time you load an Admin Area page.
