Reattempt Registration or Transfer

If an automated domain registration (or transfer initiation) attempt fails, the system will notify admins in the following ways:

  • The system sends a WHMCS Automatic Domain Renewal Failed email to admins who have the Account Emails permission.
  • The system adds an entry in Utilities > To-Do List.
  • The system adds an entry in Utilities > Module Queue.
  • The daily WHMCS Cron Job Activity email contains a summary of pending module actions in the queue.

For more information about managing domains in WHMCS, see Domain Management and Domain Registrars.

After correcting the error, you can reattempt the registration or transfer.

Reattempt Registration or Transfer

To do this:

  1. Go to the domain in the client’s profile’s Products/Services tab.
  2. Make sure that Registrar is the appropriate domain registrar.
If you need to change this value, click Save Changes before continuing.
  3. Click Register (for new registrations) or Transfer (for domain transfers) under Registrar Commands.
  4. Confirm that you want to proceed.

If the registration or transfer fails again, you do not need to place a new order to continue troubleshooting the issue. Any errors that come back from the remote systems API will display on the screen immediately when performing a manual registration attempt in this way.
