Analytics Tracking
WHMCS’s analytics tracking system collects data about how admins use WHMCS and how businesses configure their WHMCS servers and installations. We use this information to improve user experience and to select the features that we add in future releases.
Data We Collect
WHMCS’s analytics tracking system can collect two kinds of data: configuration data and user activity.
- WebPros International, LLC always collects data on your WHMCS installation’s configuration and the configuration of the server that hosts WHMCS.
- We only track user activity after an admin explicitly consents to tracking.
- User activity tracking records how admins use the WHMCS Admin Area, like how often you click on certain features.
- We added user activity tracking in WHMCS 8.12.
- In WHMCS 8.12 only, any admin can consent to or withdraw consent for user activity tracking for the entire WHMCS installation.
- In WHMCS 8.13 and later, individual admins can consent to or withdraw consent for user activity tracking for their specific admin account only.
We retain the analytics data that we collect for 26 months and then destroy it. To protect your privacy and security, we take precautions to ensure that the data is secure and does not contain private, personal, or security information.
User Activity Tracking
User activity tracking includes information about how admins navigate the WHMCS Admin Area and use its features. An admin must consent to user activity tracking before data collection begins.
- We do not currently track user activity in the Client Area.
- The system currently removes URL-query parameters from user activity data before WebPros International, LLC receives it.
Enable or Disable User Activity Tracking
Admins can give or revoke consent for user activity tracking at any time by enabling or disabling Analytics Tracking.
WHMCS 8.12 Only
In WHMCS 8.12 only, any admin can consent to or withdraw consent for user activity tracking for the entire WHMCS installation using any of the following locations:
- The checkbox at the bottom of the first step of the Setup Wizard.
- The Analytics Tracking setting in the Other tab at Configuration () > System Settings > General Settings.
When you enable either of these settings, you consent to user activity tracking in the Admin Area on your WHMCS installation. Disabling either of these settings will revoke consent and user activity tracking will stop.
WHMCS 8.13 and Later
In WHMCS 8.13 and later, individual admins can consent to or withdraw consent for user activity tracking for their specific admin account only using any of the following locations:
- The checkbox at the bottom of the first step of the Getting Started Wizard. The Getting Started Wizard appears the first time that you log in to a new WHMCS installation, or you can access it at any time at Configuration () > Getting Started Wizard.
- The Analytics Tracking setting at Account () > My Account.
- An analytics tracking opt-in reminder that appears in the bottom corner of the Admin Area.
When you enable any of these settings, you consent to user activity tracking in the Admin Area for your admin account. Disabling any of these settings will revoke consent and user activity tracking for your admin account will stop.
Configuration Data
WebPros International, LLC always collects data on your WHMCS installation’s configuration and the configuration of the server that hosts WHMCS. Whenever the system cron runs, it gathers this data and sends it to WebPros International, LLC.
