Fraud Protection

WHMCS can automatically run checks on orders to help ensure only valid clients get through and to block any potential fraud. Multiple providers allow you to choose between services, from checking the details of the person placing the order against their billing details down to identity verification.

You can access this feature at Configuration () > System Settings > Fraud Protection.

You can choose one of the following fraud protection services:

Setting Up Fraud Modules

Validation.com discontinued their services on April 9, 2023 and WHMCS features that relate to Validation.com no longer function. For more information, see User Identity Verification.

To enable fraud protection and user identity verification in WHMCS:

  1. Click Activate for the desired service.
  2. Complete the displayed form. The form varies depending upon specific supported options for each solution.
  3. Click Save Changes.

Prior to WHMCS 8.2

To do this prior to WHMCS 8.2:

  1. Select a module.
  2. Select Enable.
  3. Complete the form.
  4. Click Save Changes.

Configuring Fraud Modules

To update your configuration for any of these services, click Configure.
