Problem #

While working with the cPanel Licensing addon module, you see one of the following errors:

You cannot assign a license to this service as the product to which it is assigned does not have a configurable option for a cPanel license

or

This license is already assigned to another service

Cause #

A You cannot assign a license to this service message indicates that you attempted to assign a cPanel license to a service that does not include the required configurable options. Because of this, there is no pricing configuration for the license to use.

A This license is already assigned to another service message indicates that you already assigned that license to another service on the WHMCS installation.

Solution #

To resolve this issue, perform the appropriate steps below:

You cannot assign a license to this service #

To resolve a You cannot assign a license to this service error:

1. Find the service in the client’s profile’s Products/Services tab.
2. Check whether the cPanel Licenses configurable option appears. If it does not:
   1. Go to Configuration () > System Settings > Configurable Options.
   2. Click Edit for the cPanel Licensing option group.
   3. Select all of the applicable products that will offer a cPanel license option. Make certain to select the product that is currently returning the error.
   4. Click Save Changes.
3. Select the desired cPanel license tier.
4. Click Save Changes.
5. Click Assign or Link again.

This license is already assigned to another service #

To resolve a This license is already assigned to another service error:

1. Click Assign again to remove the current assignment.
2. Click Assign to assign the current service.
