SSL Provisioning Issues

Problem

The SSL certificates that you sell through WHMCS MarketConnect are not successfully provisioning. They do not complete configuration or they do not finish installation.

Cause

This issue may be due to the product’s module configuration or the order configuration.

Troubleshooting

To troubleshoot this issue, verify whether the module supports automatic SSL certificate installation. If it does, check the order for issues.

Supported Server Modules

The following official modules support SSL certificate auto-installation:

If the client’s hosting product uses any other module, including third-party cPanel, Plesk, or DirectAdmin extended modules, the client must manually configure, approve and install the certificate.

To check whether the product uses a supported module:

  1. Go to Configuration () > System Settings > Products/Services.
  2. Edit the desired product.
  3. Choose the Module Settings tab.
  4. Confirm that Module Name is a supported module.

Supported Order Configuration

For WHMCS to automatically install an SSL certificate, the certificate order must be a product addon under the associated hosting service. This ensures that the system can identify the hosting account to install the certificate on.

If the SSL certificate is ordered as a standalone product, it will not install automatically and the client must manually configure, approve, and install the certificate.

To check the correct configuration:

  1. Go to Configuration () > System Settings > MarketConnect
  2. Click Manage under SSL Certificates.
  3. Choose the Other Settings tab.
  4. Ensure that Auto Assign to Addons is On.

The client can then place an order for this service in two ways:

  • In the Client Area, go to Services > View Available Addons
  • Go to the MarketConnect SSL Certificates landing page (/store/order) and selecting Choose Existing Domain or Subdomain of an Existing Domain.
