You see the following error while working with payment gateways in WHMCS:

Authentication failed

Cause #

This error indicates that the credentials are incorrect in your payment gateway configuration at Configuration () > System Settings > Payment Gateways.

For example, if you see this error while working with 2CheckOut, you may have entered the secret word incorrectly.

Solution #

Check your payment gateway’s configuration at Configuration () > System Settings > Payment Gateways.
