New Version Not Appearing
Problem
When you check for new updates at Utilities > Update WHMCS, no new version appears, but there is a recent new release.
Cause
If the check does not display an available update but your WHMCS version is not the most recent release, there are several possible causes:
- The page did not automatically refresh to display the newest update.
- Your Update Channel settings are excluding the new version.
- The server does not meet the minimum requirements for the new version. This often indicates an incompatible PHP version.
The Automatic Updater utility checks whether your current server environment meets the system requirements for the next available version for your configured Update Channel setting.
Solution
In many cases, you can resolve this issue by refreshing the page at Utilities > Update WHMCS.
If the issue continues, ensure that your Update Channel setting is correct and your system meets all of the version’s requirements, including using the correct PHP version.
Incorrect Update Channel
Check the Update Channel setting at Utilities > Update WHMCS to ensure that you are using the correct channel. We recommend Stable.
If your system does not use the correct Update Channel setting, update it and then check for updates again.
System Requirements Not Met
To ensure that your installation is compatible with the system requirements for newer versions, review the system requirements and release notes for the desired version and any intermediate versions to find the necessary changes.
- Make certain that you have updated your server to a compatible PHP version. If your PHP version is incorrect, update to the correct version.
- Check to ensure that your server environment meets all of our system requirements.
- Go to or refresh Utilities > Update WHMCS.
- Click Check Now. The new version will appear.
- Click Update Now to start the update process.
