Plesk Single Sign-On

From WHMCS Documentation

Plesk single sign-on allows users to transition from WHMCS to Plesk shared or reseller hosting accounts without logging in again.

  • Users can use this in the Client Area when viewing their Plesk products.
  • Admins can use this in the Admin Area to access any Plesk hosting products that WHMCS manages.

Plesk Single Sign-On can be performed for any user on the Plesk account that the WHMCS installation uses. If you do not own the WHMCS installation account, you will not be able to perform Single Sign-On into it. Attempting to log in will result in this error:

Action Failed Unable to auto-login. Please contact support.

Permissions

This feature requires specific permissions:

Client Area

All users who have these permissions can use single sign-on with their Plesk hosting accounts:

  • View Products & Services
  • Perform Single Sign-On

These users can access their Plesk hosting accounts at Services > My Services in the Client Area.

Admin Area

Admins can control access to single sign-on functionality on a per-server and per-admin-user-group basis.

For example, you can allow admins with Admin Role Group 1 to perform single sign-on for servers 1 and 3 and only allow users of Admin Role Group 2 to perform single sign-on to server 2.

To configure server permissions:

  1. Go to Configuration () > System Settings > Servers or, prior to WHMCS 8.0, Setup > Servers.
  2. Click Edit for the desired server.
  3. In the SSO Access Control section, select Restricted under Access Control. A list of admin role groups will display.
  4. Choose the admin role group to allow to use single sign-on for that server.
  5. Save your changes.

Customising Single Sign-On Shortcuts

You can remove any Plesk single sign-on functionality that you don't want to provide to your clients. To do this, customize the /modules/servers/plesk/templates/overview.tpl file.
